When: Thursday, March 02, 2017 at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Where: Stahl Library (Medical Campus, McDonnell Sciences 426)

Marcel carried out his PhD work studying GABA receptor activity using electrophysiology and modeling approaches with Matthew Jones at UW Madison. As a post-Doctoral Fellow with Baron Chanda at UW, he has developed a new high-throughput approach for imaging dynamic motions in single GABAR molecules using fluorescently-tagged ligands/drugs and smFRET (Elife 2016), providing an exciting window through which to examine the chain of events by which ligands exert their allosteric effects.
