Where: Psychology BuildingĀ 215 (Danforth Campus)

Abstract: Racial segregation in the U.S. remains rampant in neighborhoods, schools, and even the workplace. In this talk, I will present data from five experiments that examine how segregation shapes both adults’ and children’s perceptions of interracial relations, and how these perceptions, in turn, maintain segregation. By bringing to light this bi-directional process, we can better understand why change is slower and more difficult than expected.
