The 66th Historia Medica Lecture is hosted by the Bernard Becker Medical Library in collaboration with the Center for History of Medicine.

Historian and museum professional Christopher Alan Gordon, MA, is Director of Library and Collections for the Missouri Historical Society and the author of Fire, Pestilence, and Death: St. Louis, 1849. Released in February 2018, the book has won both the 2018 Independent Publishers Association silver medal for Best Regional Non-Fiction – Midwest and the Indie Excellence Award for Regional History. Gordon has worked for MHS for 16 years. He grew up in southwest Missouri and attended Missouri State University.
