“New 11C/18F chemistry and its use in PET radioligand synthesis”

NOTE time

Hosted by Dean Wong (WashU Radiology)

Background: Dr. Jakobsson received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Gothenburg in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry in 2014. He received his PhD in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry in 2018 under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Riss at the University of Oslo. His doctoral research was centered on the development of new fluorination and radiofluorination reactions using hypervalent iodine species. He also developed a carbon-11 PET radiotracer for imaging of NMDA/NR2B receptors and a tritiated ligand for in vitro studies using autoradiography. His current research is focused on the development of new radiolabeling methodologies with carbon-11 and new PET radiotracers for neuroimaging.
