“The Paradoxes of Acceptance”

Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology (PNP) Colloquium 

In this talk we’ll treat four classic paradoxes of epistemology: the preface paradox, the dogmatism paradox, the Harman-Vogel paradox, and the bootstrapping problem. All four exploit the intransitivity of probabilistic support. The lesson is that justification is not like money; how you earned it limits where you can spend it.
