“Structural Racism and Black Youth Mental Health: Moving Beyond the Clown at the Circus”

Abstract: This presentation will address the topic of structural racism and health, with a focus on Black American youth. I will highlight biopsychosocial pathways linking structural racism, mental health, and health from prior research and discuss new directions and necessary changes to promote psychological health and health equity among Black Americans.
