2021 Ribbon Synapses Seminar Series
Join us for a unique seminar series to learn more about the specialized sensory synapses that afford unique signal processing abilities to the auditory and visual systems.
The Ribbon Synapses Seminar Series is being held virtually for the first time this year, in lieu of the biannual in-person Ribbon Synapses Symposium held in Goettingen, Germany since 2003.
Session #4 – May 12
10:00 AM CDT
- Thomas Coate (Georgetown University) “Mechanisms of SGN wiring and firing during ribbon synapse development”
11:00 AM CDT
- Angela Ballesteros (National Institutes of Health) “Exploring the Functional Implications of the Structural Relationship Between TMC1 and TMEM16 proteins” (short talk)
11:25 AM CDT
- Maria (Lania) E. Rubio (University of Pittsburgh) “Molecular Structure of Auditory Nerve Synapses in the Normal Hearing and in the Hearing Impaired”
