- Marwa Mikati is a 4th year PhD candidate in the Al-Hasani lab. Her main projects focus on detection methods for endogenous opioid peptides, the interactions between the opioid system and the immune system, and understanding the role of the KOR system in withdrawal
- Blanca Perez Del Palomar, PhD obtained a Pharmacy degree and Pharmacology Master’s degree from the University of the Basque Country in Spain. She completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 2019, and joined McCall’s lab as a postdoctoral researcher in 2020. Her research interests are principally focused on the study of the neurological basis of mental disorders such as schizophrenia or depression. The main objective of her Doctoral Thesis was to develop and characterize an animal model of cognitive deficit of schizophrenia, and she came to Jordan’s lab to study and identify new therapeutic targets that would allow the development of promising and effective drugs for the treatment of cognitive deficits in schizophrenia
