“Design and Development of Cancer Radio-/Chemo-theranostic Agents”

Hosted by the Mallinckrodt Institute of Technology’s (MIR) Precision Radiotheranostics Translation Center (PRTC)

Background: Dr. Xiankai Sun obtained his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry on design and synthesis of supramolecular clusters with pre-designed symmetries from the University of New Hampshire in 2000. After three years of postdoctoral training in radiochemistry and then a junior faculty stay at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, he joined the faculty of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas (UT Southwestern) in 2004; where he is now a tenured full professor endowed with the Dr. Jack Krohmer Professorship in Radiation Physics. With research interests in novel diagnostic and therapeutic agent development, Dr. Sun directs the Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Program and the Preclinical Nuclear Imaging Laboratory at UT Southwestern.
