“From pretty to useful: A story in using AI to process cardiac SPECT images”

Short Bio: Dr. Jha is an assistant professor with joint appointments in biomedical engineering and radiology and courtesy appointment in the Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Washington University. Previously, he was a faculty at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Jha obtained his PhD with valedictorian honors from the University of Arizona. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER, NIBIB Trailblazer, Michael B. Merickel Best Student Paper award at SPIE Medical Imaging, Therapy Center for Excellence Young Investigator award, 30 Early Career Professionals to Watch of the SNMMI, and Young Investigator Symposium Award of Distinction for Translational Sciences at the ECOG-ACRIN meeting. He led the evaluation team within the SNMMI AI task force that proposed the RELAINCE guidelines for evaluation of AI algorithms for nuclear medicine. He is on the Board of Directors of the Physics, Instrumentation and Data Sciences Council of the SNMMI and a senior member of the IEEE and SPIE.
