“The Evolution from Health Services Research to the Health Systems Innovation Lab” 


Hosted by the Division of Public Health Sciences, Department of Surgery.

Dr. Maddox will discuss how health services research has been instrumental in identifying opportunities to improve the quality of health care delivery, using examples from his work in characterizing the quality of cardiac care. He will then outline how the field of health services research is evolving to bring recent innovations in data, analytics, technology, and other care delivery interventions to improve the quality of health care, and how the newly established Health Systems Innovation Lab will bring those insights to care delivery at Washington University and BJC Healthcare.
